In certain circles, the title of this post will be seen as utter and complete blasphemy and even more frightening is the idea that I will never be invited to Hawaii to sit outside with Oprah on Super Soul Sunday! But before you write me off as a heretic, bear with me as I outline my brief argument against what I view as a bunch of hooey.
Before I get into what I don't believe, first let me tell you about what I absolutely do believe. I absolutely believe in energy and frequency. I believe, 100 percent, that each of us has the ability to tune into and use different frequencies for different purposes. I also believe that the belief in God/Goddess relies upon being tuned into that frequency. That is why you have true, absolute believers (me) and others that are total and complete atheists. It isn't that one side is right and the other wrong, it has everything to do with attunement. Personally, I was always tuned into the frequency of the Divine. I knew instinctively that the Highest Frequency existed and have devoted my entire life (yes, even as a small child) to sharpening my receptivity to that frequency.
As an Energy Healer, I obviously believe that everything is tied into energy and frequency and that when we meet our teachers, we are afforded another opportunity to tune into those higher frequencies and gain deeper understanding of the Divine that is all around us. Our teachers don't necessarily come from a certain lineage or have a magical certification, but our teachers appear in many forms from human to non-human to experiences and missed opportunities. As the saying goes, "when the student is ready, the teacher appears."
These teachers and experiences exist in a place that I simply call The Flow. We are always invited and encouraged to step into The Flow when we listen and watch the signs. It's essentially what Paulo Coehlo's most famous work The Alchemist is all about. If you've ever read the book, you'll notice that Santiago never used a vision board nor did he ever watch every single thought in his head to monitor their level of positivity or negativity. And you know what? He ended up with everything that he wanted not by thinking or not thinking about one thing or another but instead by stepping into and listening to The Flow.
As I kinda outlined above,. the"Law" of Attraction maintains that everything that happens to you good, bad or indifferent is a direct result of the energy that you put out as generated by your thoughts. If you think negatively, bad things will happen. If you think positively, good things will happen. If you're an asshole, you will attract other assholes. If you are angelic, you will attract other angelic people. Get the picture? Well, I call bullshit!!
And this is why: Bad things happen to good people ALL OF THE TIME. Kind people attract, date and sometimes marry complete and utter jerks. People who speak health and prosperity over their children still lose them to tragedy. And the "Law" of Attraction implies that all of these shitty things that happen to you are your own damn fault You didn't believe strong enough, your vision board wasn't clear enough, you slipped up and told the Universe something negative in your sleep. See how completely screwed up this is?
Now, I'm not saying that I don't speak over my life, I do, but more so as a reminder to myself and to my own cells. The Flow does not need your input. The Flow only requires your action and your willingness to learn the lessons that it offers, the easy lessons and the hard ones. The Flow asks you to let go and to step into It so that It can carry you to where you need to go, some of the places are filled with magnificent Light and some are pitch Black but all are there to lead you to your highest place, the Highest Frequency.
So what the heck does all of this mean? It means this: be still and listen. Do your best for you, for those around you, for the planet. Know that The Flow is ultimately Love and although the lessons are sometimes painful and bewildering they are only there to serve the very Highest Good.
